Object Name Records
Scope & Content Material in the Dubuque Boat and Boiler Works collection dates from 1898 to 1972. The earliest documents are boat blueprints from when the organization was known as the Iowa Iron Works. The latest material has to do with the closing of the boat and boiler works in 1972. Included in the collection are documents related to administration, finance, employment/labor, and publicity. The bulk of the documents, however, is related to the production of boats, boilers, and other equipment and includes contracts, supply lists, and drawings. Blueprints for boats built or repaired at the Dubuque Boat and Boiler Works are a major component of the collection as well.
